Peaks & Valleys Jeep Tour – Pico do Arieiro, Valley of the Nuns & Pico dos Barcelos
Join us on an unforgettable Jeep adventure through some of Madeira’s most scenic and elevated landscapes. This tour combines breathtaking viewpoints and dramatic mountain roads— perfect for nature lovers and photography enthusiasts.
We begin by driving high into the mountains, where winding roads lead us above the clouds to Pico do Arieiro, Madeira’s third-highest peak at 1,818 meters. Here, you’ll be surrounded by rugged volcanic terrain and panoramic views that stretch across the island — and sometimes even to Porto Santo on a clear day.
Next, we head to the spectacular viewpoint, perched above the dramatic Valley of the Nuns (Curral das Freiras). This hidden village, once a refuge for nuns escaping pirate attacks, sits in the heart of a volcanic crater surrounded by towering cliffs — a true natural amphitheater.
To finish, we visit Pico dos Barcelos, a peaceful viewpoint offering sweeping views over Funchal, the bay, and the ocean beyond. Surrounded by gardens and local charm, it’s the perfect place to relax and take in everything you’ve seen.
Throughout the journey, enjoy the comfort of a 4×4 Jeep and the thrill of exploring steep, scenic mountain roads — far from the usual tourist routes. It’s a day of elevated experiences, both literally and figuratively.
